This books illustrations are amazing and it is honestly a
great way to show the months in a short and easy way to children.
Summary:
This book goes
through each month with a poem that describes what occurs during that month,
whether that is a holiday or how the weather is outside it just depends. It
also has beautiful illustrations to go along with each month.
I definitely believe I can use this book in the classroom;
it is a great book for themes such as weather, months and seasons.
The appropriate grade level for this book would be 2nd- 5th
grade because it has some advanced vocabulary and has lots of words per page so
it might be harder and go over a younger child’s head.
I could use this book as a beginning of the month read
aloud. So, at the beginning of the month I would read aloud that month’s poem.
We then would discuss what we think/know what happens in that month, like what
do you think happens in October? And they would say the leaves turn orange and
it starts to get cold, like that sort of thing. It would be a great way to get
them thinking.
HAVE FUN READING!💙-Lacy
