This book is a cute little book over a topic that can be
very relatable for younger children, it is about sharing with new siblings and
accepting growing up.
Summary:
Peter was building a tower when his mother said you have to
play more quiet because of the new baby. When Peter looked in his sister’s room
he notices that she was using his crib but that painted it pink. He went to see
his father and he was painting his highchair pink for his sister. Then he
noticed his old chair and how it was not painted pink yet, so he picked it up
and ran it to his room. Peter thought about running away with his dog and he
would bring his chair, his toy crocodile, and a picture of him as a baby. They
went outside and he arranged his things and decided to sit in his chair for a
while, but he realized couldn’t fit anymore he was too big. His mother said to
come in, but Peter had an idea, he said he would help paint the little chair
pink for Susie and so they did.
I believe I could use this book in my classroom because it
is a short and simple story about how growing up is not always bad and sharing
with siblings isn’t that bad either.
I believe the appropriate grade level for this book would be
Kinder-2nd grade. This book is very easy to read and has very little words to a
page. I believe this could be a good self-read for students.
I could use this book in the classroom as a reading check
book since it is so easy or this book can also be used if a student is going
through the same thing as Peter was, for a self-reading book.
HAVE FUN READING!💙-Lacy
