I have always loved the Magic
School Bus books they are so informative and make learning fun and this one
is a great way to learn a little bit about flowers and seeds.
Summary:
The class is learning about plants and seeds. So Ms. Frizzle
lets the student’s plant a whole garden behind the school. Then Phoebe wants to
go to her old school to get a certain flower. So they get in the bus and then
the bus shrinks down small into a lady-bug like state. Then they land on one of
Phoebes plants and crawl onto a petal, where they find they are in nectar. Then
they explored the anther and then they saw some bee’s pollinating. So they got
back on the bus and they shrunk down even more and went on a bee. They then
checked out the pollen tubes where they found out more about seeds and then
with the help of Ms. Frizzle they grew back big again with the new seed. In the
end they ended up with that Phoebes special flower after all.
I feel I can definitely use book this in my future classroom.
The Magic School Bus Series is always
a great way to explore deeper into subjects.
I believe the appropriate grade level for this book is
1st-5th grade. This is an easy book to read and has very little words and great
illustrations so it is easy to follow. Though there are some bigger vocabulary words
in this book since this is a science book, which is why I recommend above
kindergarten age if the student will be reading it on their own. Though I believe
this book can be good for all ages, because you are never too old to learn from
something like The Magic School Bus
books to help understand more about a topic.
I believe I could use this book when I am doing a unit on
plants. This book is a great way to introduce the topic and maybe even then
watch the episode that is related to this book to help get them really excited.
HAVE FUN READING!💙-Lacy
